I never really used brushes until I discovered Real Techniques back in 2012! Real Techniques are a makeup brush brand created by the amazing sisters Sam & Nic, Also known on youtube as Pixiwoo but i’m sure you all know that! I have always used their original brushes and I also have one from their Bold Metals collection. I was recently sent 4 brushes from their PowderBleu collection and I was so excited to start using them.
The Real Techniques PowderBleu collection consists of 6 pieces. They are exclusively engineered to layer on powder – through applying, blending, buffing and setting – to lock in your look without disturbing the makeup underneath. The collection mimics the luxurious feel of blue squirrel hair, but fear not — the brushes are made with the FauxBleu™ technology, a synthetic hair.
The super soft large face brush is designed to apply a sheer layer of powder over the face to set makeup, remove shine or add pigment. This brush is perfect for blending and buffing in your favourite powder foundation or locking in a shimmery highlight. I use this for my blusher and it works beautifully, I always prefer using a bigger brush.
The small tapered head fits into tighter areas (under the eyes and the T-zone) and is great for controlled application of highlight and blush. Pair with a powder blush to create a gorgeously diffused, rosy glow. I use this for my powder highlight and it glides on a dream.
The domed, dense head is designed to blend and buff powder foundation onto skin for buildable, shine-free coverage. Use with a setting powder to lock in your flawless look, without disturbing any layers of makeup underneath. I use this brush to apply my setting translucent powder and it gives my makeup that extra hold it needs to last the day.
The luxuriously long bristles pick up and lay down powder shadows with minimum fallout. It can be used to create a naturally-diffused look or over cream shadows to lock in pigment and prevent creasing. Now i’m not normally a eye shadow kind of girl unless i’m going out out, But since having this brush in my life its been a hell of a lot easier to do my eyes on a daily basis.
